However, Recently a web show was released on Netflix, which has now become the talk of the town for its amazing details, brilliant performance, and the number of records that the show is breaking internationally.
I am talking about the web show The Railway Men, which is the debut web series of Yash Raj Films also known as YRF that was recently released on Netflix. The web series star cast includes R. Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyendu Sharma, and Babil Khan (Son of the late actor Irrfan Khan). The web show is based on the 1984 real-life tragic incident that occurred in Bhopal, India when because of the faulty machines present in the Carbide factory, The hazardous methyl-isocyanate gas got spread into the city of Bhopal which resulted in the deaths of thousands of innocent people. The web series shows that nearly 15,000 people lost their lives because of this incident (without any proof). However, In reality, the official data from the National Centre of Biotechnology Information says that around 3,800 people who used to live near the factory died immediately on the same night but unofficially the actual number of deaths from this disaster is said to be much higher.
The Railway Men:
This web show tells us the story of the heroism and bravery shown by the Bhopal railway officers during they prioritized the people’s lives above themselves and gave all the efforts they could in order to protect the innocent and common lives. This web show is created and executed very brilliantly and is sure must must-watch for all. The acting performance, dialogue, screenplay, and direction are executed very beautifully, though this show has a few flaws and some points that could have been done better still this four-hour web show deserves to be on your watch list as not only this show connects you with the story and emotion of characters but also it forces you to realize the importance of life.
The Railway Men Achievements:
The Railway Men became the No.1 show in the entire South Asia and achieved the third rank globally. When one of the leading actors in this web show, R Madhavan was asked about this he replied that the achievements of this show just prove that the Indian-origin show has now started to achieve the success which they deserve. The actor also said that when their web show got released it was not only competing with other indian web series but also with international web shows like Crown or Squid Game which puts more responsibility on the actor’s shoulders. The entire technical team, Yash Raj Productions, the director, and all the actors played a very important role behind the success of this web series.
Babil Khan:
Babil Khan has become the main attraction of this web series because of the brilliant performance he did in The Railway Men. He said that during the time they were shooting for this show, As he was grappling with the loss of his friend and father, the late actor Irrfan Khan but Kay Kay Menon always created a belonging environment for him and supported Babil all the time.
Kay Kay praised Babil and said that after working with him he has realized that Babil is very kind and heartful. He has a spark in himself because of which he will achieve great heights in the coming future.
The Railway Men series about the Bhopal gas tragedy has released on 18 November 2023. This show directed by Shiv Rawail starring R Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyendu Sharma, and Babil Khan is and is now available to stream on Netflix.
