Rajkumar Hirani, and Shah Rukh Khan’s Recent and one of the most awaited films in 2023, Dunki has now finally released in theaters. This film has received mixed reviews and though the first-day collection of this film is not as high as that of SRK’s Jawan or Pathaan which have proved to be blockbusters released in the same year, This film has managed to impress a large portion of SRK fans and audiences in the initial days and has received a lot of praises from all the viewers.
The audiences loved the performance of the star cast including Shah Rukh Khan, Tapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Satish Shah, Boman Irani, etc. along with the magical direction of Rajkumar Hirani which can be also witnessed in this film. The performance done by all the actors in this movie is said to be their career-best but many people don’t know that in Dunki, the famous actor-comedian Sunil Grover’s brother has also acted in this movie.
In Dunki, The character of Balli Kakkad is played by Anil Grover, who is the younger brother of actor Sunil Grover. Though many things are not known about Anil Grover, It is said that Dunki would be his biggest film in the world of cinemas. Reacting to the same, Sunil Grover also shared a post on his Instagram handle.
In this post, The actor said that his favorite Director Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki like many other SRK films is very special to him. However, Dunki is an extra special film for Sunil because of his brother Anil Grover who is also working in this movie as an actor along with SRK. Sunil also said that he is proud of his brother and wishes him good luck in his acting journey.
Anil Grover’s Journey In Bollywood:
Anil Grover is an actor-comedian like his brother. He has previously worked in a few films including Anand L. Rai’s Atrangi Re which starred Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan, and Dhanush as a main lead.
Anil completed his school education at DAV Cenetenary Public School, in Mandi Dabawali, Haryana. Since his school journey began, He was always interested in working in this profession.
He started his acting journey with Ramta Jogi, a Punjabi film starring actors like Deep Sidhu, Girish Sahdeva, and Rahul Dev. In this movie, He also worked as Chief Assistant Director behind the scenes. The second film that Anil did was Anand L. Rai’s Atrangi Re. Though in both films he had little screen time but also made sure that he prepared and worked for his characters. However, This time he has got an opportunity to play an important character in SRK’s Dunki.
Anil Grover has managed to receive attention and fame from audiences even before the release of this film. Anil looks very similar to Sunil Grover because of this when the audience saw him in Dunki’s trailer, they became eager to know more about the actor on all social media platforms.
Anil Grover’s Experience Working With SRK:
Anil considers himself very fortunate that he got an opportunity to work with Shah Rukh Khan. He said in one of his interviews that working with him was a surreal experience. Just like how the Sun lights up everyone when it comes out similarly when SRK comes on the set everyone can sense an aura of him and it feels like someone has switched on a 4000-watt bulb.
Dunki Opening Box Office Collection:
Dunki is the third film of Shah Rukh Khan which was released this year. His previous two movies Jawan and Pathaan became huge Blockbuster and created worldwide records. As per Sacnilk, Dunki domestically collected around Rs.30 Crore on its first day making it the seventh biggest opening film of this year. This collection is comparatively very low than Pathaan or Jawan’s first-day collection which was Rs.57 Crore and Rs.75 Crores respectively. However, Dunki has still collected a bigger opening than SRK’s Zero which was released in the year 2018 and collected around Rs.19 Crore on its first day.
There is very little chance that this film would match the record-breaking collection received by Jawaan or Pathaan as both of these films were mass-appealing Masala-Action movies that were released in multi-languages including Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. In contrast, Dunki is a light-hearted, comedy-drama movie based on true incidents that will be released only in Hindi language. The film is competing with KGF fame director Prashant Neel’s SALAAR which collected around Rs.95 Crore in its first day and successfully beat the opening collection record of Pathaan and Jawan.
However, Dunki has received great reviews from critics, and the audiences who have watched the film are also praising it for its story, cast, and most importantly the magical direction of Rajkumar Hirani which we all can witness in the movie.
